There are many types of brain diseases, ranging from injuries and infections to brain tumors and dementia. They can impact your ability to function and carry out daily activities. Outcomes vary widely depending on the type of brain disease, location and severity of the condition.

Here are a few list of problems that our doctor specializes in:

Acute Stroke:

Acute stroke is commonly called a cerebrovascular accident which is not a term preferred by most stroke neurologists. There are two main causes of stroke: a blocked artery (ischemic stroke) or leaking or bursting of a blood vessel (hemorrhagic stroke).

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage:

A subarachnoid hemorrhage is bleeding in the space between the brain and the surrounding membrane. The primary symptom is a sudden, severe headache.

Head Injury:

A head injury is a broad term that describes a vast array of injuries that occur to the scalp, skull, brain, and underlying tissue and blood vessels in the head.

Cerebral Venous Disease:

Cerebral venous desease occurs when a blood clot forms in the brain’s venous sinuses. This prevents blood from draining out of the brain. As a result, blood cells may break and leak blood into the brain tissues, forming a hemorrhage.

Headaches:

A headache is a pain in your head or face that’s often described as a pressure that’s throbbing, constant, sharp or dull. Headaches can differ greatly in regard to pain type, severity, location and frequency.

Facial Pain:

Facial pain is pain felt in any part of the face, including the mouth and eyes. Trigeminal neuralgia is the most common cause of facial pain. Although the condition is not life-threatening, the intensity of the pain can be debilitating.

Dizziness:

Dizziness is a term used to describe a range of sensations, such as feeling faint, woozy, weak or unsteady. Dizziness that creates the false sense that you or your surroundings are spinning or moving is called vertigo.

Sleep Disorders:

Sleep disorders are conditions that result in changes in the way that you sleep. A sleep disorder can affect your overall health, safety and quality of life. Sleep deprivation can affect your ability to drive safely and increase your risk of other health problems.
